Phil. 1:6 And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.
The consistency and perseverance of the Lord is amazing. Once we get a word of direction from the Lord that we are sure of, we can have that same relentless perseverance in our lives. Like Paul said in today’s verse “I am sure of this, He who began a good work in you will bring it to completion”. It has been that keeping power that is on our Church, Victory Fellowship that we are celebrating today. Thirty eight years ago the Lord birthed this church in our hearts, it continues today as a testimony to the grace of God and the perseverance of His sons and daughters. We have seen many challenges over the years from Katrina to betrayal but the Lord has continued to meet us and lift us from glory to glory. He started His work, He has sustained it, and He will bring it to His glorious completion. Here are the words from the song AFTER ALL THESE YEARS from Brian Johnson that reflects what the Lord has done at Victory Fellowship “after all these years”.
After the pride
After the fall
The hands of mercy opened wide
After the rain
After the flood
You set Your promise in the sky
The God, who was, and is to come
Has been, the same, for me
After all these years
You’ve never given up
After all these years
You’re constant with Your love
It amazes me
After all You’ve done
It amazes me
You’re still running after us
After the Cross
After the shame
No power of hell could ever take
Your perfect life
Your gift of grace
That testifies beyond the grave
Still testifies beyond the grave
The God, who was, and is to come
Has been, the same, for me
The God, who was, and is, to come
Has been, the same, for me
You’ve always been, the same, for me
After all these years …
So maybe you are new to our church or new to another local body in His church, welcome. One thing I know, God is faithful. He will keep you and transform you for the sake of His Name. He wants others to know Him, He wants others to see His grace at work and He has decided to do it through you.
