GLORY

Rom. 11:36 ¶ For of Him and through Him and to Him are all things, to whom be glory forever. Amen.

Once you see it you begin to understand, everything is about His Glory. The whole reason we exist is to display the various characteristics of our God. Paul said it like this, “For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse”. For example, the intricacies of the human eye display His wisdom, the releasing of the power in an atom through a nuclear explosion displays His power, and the vast, endless nature of creation displays His greatness. His glory is seen also in the work of redemption. To see former alcoholics free and clean, former prostitutes holy women of God, former drug dealers as ministers, or thieves showing wise stewardship in building God’s kingdom; these redemptive works are all about His glory. All of creation and human culture is intended to bring glory to God. Here is how Spurgeon describes giving glory to God.

“Let your desire for God’s glory be a growing desire. You blessed him in your youth, do not be content with such praises as you gave him then. Has God prospered you in business? Give him more as he has given you more. Has God given you experience? Praise him by stronger faith than you exercised at first. Does your knowledge grow? Then sing more sweetly. Do you enjoy happier times than you once had? Have you been restored from sickness, and has your sorrow been turned into peace and joy? Then give him more music; put more coals and more sweet frankincense into the censer of your praise. Practically in your life give him honor, putting the Amen to this doxology to your great and gracious Lord, by your own individual service and increasing holiness.”
When you discover the glory of God you will be changed. You will see yourself from a different perspective. Rather than being filled with pride at any accomplishments in your life, your successes will bring a greater humility. You will see anything good that comes from you really came from Him. He is glorified and we are blessed to be a tool used to display His glory. What is my response, I will pursue Him and find my joy in Him. The more I am satisfied the more He is glorified.
