We can want to do things in confidence. But the less confidence we have, the greater the chance that we aren’t going to do something with all our hearts, thereby decreasing the likelihood of success. God promises us that we can put our confidence in Jesus Christ knowing that in Him, His plans will always succeed.

One of the biggest hindrances to pursuing something is the fear of getting embarrassed by failure. The embarrassment of failure has such a crippling effect that it can often paralyse people and cause them to settle for mediocrity. That, however, is not what God wants for believers. He wants our hope and faith to be rested on Him so that we can run the race with confidence knowing that in Him, we will not be put to shame.

Here are eight scriptures that will remind us that as we pursue the things God has set for us to do, we can run with confidence knowing that God can and will give us the power to succeed through Jesus Christ.

Hebrews 12:2 “looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.” (Pixabay)
Hebrews 4:16 “Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.” (Pixabay)
Philippians 3:3 “For we are the circumcision, who worship by the Spirit of God and glory in Christ Jesus and put no confidence in the flesh.” (Pixabay)
Ephesians 3:11-12 “This was according to the eternal purpose that he has realized in Christ Jesus our Lord, in whom we have boldness and access with confidence through our faith in him.” (Pexels)
2 Corinthians 3:4-5 “Such is the confidence that we have through Christ toward God. Not that we are sufficient in ourselves to claim anything as coming from us, but our sufficiency is from God.” (Pixabay)
Romans 5:3-4 “Not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.” (Pixabay)
Psalm 121:1-2 “I lift up my eyes to the hills. From where does my help come? My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth.” (Pixabay)
Psalm 25:2 “O my God, in you I trust; let me not be put to shame; let not my enemies exult over me.” (Pexels)
