“Fixer Upper” stars Chip and Joanna Gaines have already made waves on television, but the Christian couple is expected to make waves on bookshelves as well with the release of their first book “The Magnolia Story” this Oct. 18.

Joanna reveals on her personal blog that the book will detail their journey towards success, and how their strong faith, marriage and family values kept them grounded amidst all of life’s upheavals.

“Getting to tell this story together was like uncovering and reliving half-a-lifetime’s worth of happy memories, failures, and adventures. I can’t wait to share it with you and hope you enjoy the story, our story, as much as we are enjoying the privilege and opportunity to share it with you,” writes Joanna.

A short description of the book, which was written with New York Times bestselling collaborator Mark Dagostino, reads: “‘The Magnolia Story’ is the first book from Chip and Joanna, offering their fans a detailed look at their life together. From the very first renovation project they ever tackled together, to the project that nearly cost them everything; from the childhood memories that shaped them, to the twists and turns that led them to the life they share on the farm today.”

Aside from their popular HGTV show, the Gaines have also dabbled in real estate, construction and design. They even have their own furnishings line and boutique, according to the Gospel Herald.

Joanna recalls that after giving birth to their second child, God called them to close their furnishings store called Magnolia Market. As heartbreaking as the decision was, the Gaines did it.

Later, Joanna says the decision paid dividends sincethey were swept away by a sense of peace.

“God taught me to study the Word and believe it, even when it hadn’t been fulfilled yet. I really had to cultivate a place of faith that I never had before. I had to trust Him as He would speak His promise to me,” she explains.

“This trust brought peace, although my circumstance hadn’t yet reflected His promise. His Word doesn’t return void, and God was working in my heart to establish deeper levels of trust that I now look back on and am thankful for,” she adds.
