"There's always a light at the end of the tunnel."
Many often quote that saying whenever they face uncertain situations. While it is generally encouraging to think that we will someday be able to find some hope, answers, or solutions to the problems we are currently facing, we Christians should realise that we have it better than just that – simply because the light of the world shines upon us.
We Have the Light to Lead Us
That saying often means that there's hope at the end of whatever we are facing. But why settle for a good ending when you can actually enjoy the ride while going there?
I don't mean to be someone who denies the hardship, or lies to himself about the pain and the sorrow of whatever problem we are going through. What I want to convey is that we have Jesus, the light of the world, shining on us as we go through all the struggles and troubles in life.

In John 8:12, Jesus said, "I am the light of the world. If you follow me, you won't have to walk in darkness, because you will have the light that leads to life." His invitation for us doesn't mean that it'll all be easy or fun, but that we won't be walking alone, hopelessly.
We Have the Light
Take note of what Christ Jesus said: "You will have the light that leads to life." He didn't say that the light is still there at the end of the tunnel. He didn't say that the light will shine from a distance. No, He meant that we will have the light.
If we are in Christ, we have to realise that He is in us. His Spirit lives in us. The Spirit that raised Him from the dead dwells in us, our "ever-present help in time of need." Isn't that amazing?
Hope in God
Think about it, friends. Because of what Christ has done, we are made sons and daughters of God, and have been made right with Him (see Romans 8:15; Galatians 4:6, 5:18).
Because of what Christ has done, we all know that those who are in Christ will someday go home to God's rest (see John 3:16). Because of what Christ has done, we have entered into God's presence, and His very Spirit dwells inside of us (see 1 Corinthians 3:16).
This means that in Christ, light isn't at the far end of the tunnel. It's already here, and we're carrying it and are being carried by it as we walk our tunnels (see Romans 8:11; 2 Corinthians 4:6-7).
We have hope, we have joy, and we have peace because Christ is in us (see Romans 8:15; Galatians 5:22-23; Colossians 1:27), and God will never leave us nor forsake us (see Deuteronomy 31:6; Hebrews 13:5).
