What This 12-Year-Old Taught Me About Being Pro-Life

When I was 12 years old, there were a lot of ways I spent my time.

School and homework? 8 hours a day.

Baseball practice? 6 hours a week.

Saving the princess in The Legend of Zelda on Nintendo? Every moment of free time I could find.

Defending lives of unborn children? I didn’t even know they needed to be defended.

I didn’t know that millions of babies were being aborted throughout the world.

I didn’t know that there were people and organizations that were not only OK with taking the lives of unborn children, but actively promoted it.

I didn’t know that even my 12-year-old voice could’ve made a difference.

But Lia Mills knew she had a voice, and she used it. At 12 years old, she wanted to use her school’s speech competition to speak against abortion. Initially disqualified by her pro-choice teacher due to the topic, her teacher changed her mind once she heard the speech. Check out the homemade video with over 2 million views of Lia’s powerful speech below:

Abortion not only destroys the life of the unborn baby, but harms the mother as well. As Lia mentions, mothers who have abortions have a greater chance of experiencing mood disorders—sometimes substantial enough to harm themselves. They are also more likely to struggle with drug or alcohol abuse and have a greater risk of developing breast cancer.

Yet Planned Parenthood, one of the 50 largest non-profits in the country, continues to promote itself as a trustworthy source for women’s healthcare while using abortion as its single largest cash-generating “service.”

Former Planned Parenthood facility directors have, in sworn legal documents, stated they had mandated abortion quotas.

As troubling as that may sound, various facilities have received citations for having non-medical personnel performing medical functions, reusing unsanitary sponges for several days to clean instruments, failing to disinfect or remove blood stains from patient tables between abortions, and more.

It’s time to tell the whole story about Planned Parenthood and the abortion industry.

We can’t sit idly by.

It’s time for more courageous people like Lia to step up, be bold, and let their voice be heard.

Our world needs it.

Expectant mothers need it.

And certainly the unborn need it.

So whether you’re 12, 22, or 82, now is the time to speak up.

And who knows? Maybe you could save a life.
