5 ways to celebrate your family daily and not only on weekends

Your relationship with your family is the most important relationship you have in your life, next to your relationship with God. Thus, it deserves to be given more importance and value with each day.

Most parents and children build their family relationship by having family day-outs or similar activities during weekends. But we all know that developing a deep and meaningful connection with your parents and siblings requires more than just an hour per week – it requires much more time.

Are you looking for ways to build your relationship with your family? Are you hoping that you'll have more time to do that? Then you should celebrate your family every day of the week! Here are some ways you can do that.

1. Maintain open and vibrant communication with them daily

Thank God for today's mobile phones and social media platforms, because you can use these to help further your connection with your family. Send them text messages. Post messages on their social media pages. Try to maintain communication with them, and make them feel special and important to you through these means.

2. Enjoy every moment with them daily

While it's very tempting to get angry and distance yourself from some family members for doing something displeasing to you, it won't be good to hurt them and focus on their mistakes. We've only got one life, and we don't know when it will be cut. Better enjoy every moment with your family!

Focus on the good things that God has put in them. Hope for the best for every family member. Have fun with them even for as little as 15 minutes a day. You'll be surprised at the results.

3. Let them know you appreciate them daily

Let your family know you appreciate them. Thank your mom and dad for working hard to provide for your needs. Even if you aren't as materially "blessed" as your peers, your parents are more important than your smartphone or your friends.

Thank your brother for being your brother. Consider each other as blessings from the Lord. Thank each other for the little things. Appreciate them verbally and non-verbally.

4. Don't wait for the weekends

Don't wait for the weekends before cooking that pasta dinner. Don't wait for "more time" before asking them to go out for a day trip – make time for it. Today counts, so don't waste it.

5. Pray for them always

Best of all, pray for them. Bring them to the family altar, and say a prayer for each of them. When you are inside your prayer closet, pray for them. Don't stop praying for them!
