Pamela Anderson speaks out against dangers of pornography

Reuters – Pamela Anderson slammed pornography as a harmful addiction that must be put to a stop.

When it comes to pornography, former Playboy cover model and 1990s sex symbol Pamela Anderson really knows what she’s talking about.

But Anderson is not supporting the pornography business, but rather speaking out against it. In an op-ed piece she co-wrote with social commentator and Orthodox Rabbi Shmuley Boteach for The Wall Street Journal, the “Baywatch” star slammed pornography as a harmful addiction that must be put to a stop.

“If anyone still had doubts about the addictive dangers of pornography, [Congressman] Anthony Weiner should have put [them to rest] with his repeated, self-sabotaging sexting,” the two wrote, referring to the recent sexting scandal of the politician.

“What is required is an honest dialogue about what we are witnessing — the true nature and danger of porn — and an honor code to tamp it down in the collective interests of our well-being as individuals, as families and as communities,” they said.

The two went on to describe pornography as having a “corrosive effect on a man’s soul and on his ability to function as husband, and, by extension, as father.”

Given the fact that porn is now “freely available” for any one to watch, the two stressed that action must be taken to quash the “public hazard of unprecedented seriousness.”

“Simply put, we must educate ourselves and our children to understand that porn is for losers — a boring, wasteful and dead-end outlet for people too lazy to reap the ample rewards of healthy sexuality,” they said.

Anderson has made a career out of sensual performances, most notable of which is “Baywatch.” She also took part in the adult cartoon series “Stripperella” and even had two leaked sex tapes — one with former husband Tommy Lee and another one with Bret Michaels.

She has also appeared more times on the cover of Playboy (15 times) than any other model. Her last nude appearance for the magazine was in its January/February 2016 issue.
