Watch: Trailers for eight independent “faith-based” films, all coming out between August and October of this year

The first months of the year and the last weeks of summer are the slowest moviegoing times of the year. Not coincidentally, perhaps, those are also the two times of year when a lot of the smaller, independent “faith-based” films tend to come out, since they don’t have to worry about blockbusters crowding them out of the multiplex.

This year is no exception. In the last few weeks, I have received a lot of press releases and watched several trailers for “faith-based” films that are coming out between August and October, so I figured I’d round ’em all up in order of their release dates.

Note: this list does not include big-studio films like Ben-Hur (August 19) or Queen of Katwe (September 23) that have major “faith-based” elements but are essentially mainstream, made with bigger budgets and aimed at broader audiences.

This info is up-to-date as far as I know, but the release dates are subject to change.

August 12 — The Fight Within

I think that covers it. If I missed any, let me know and I’ll add them to the list.
