Planned Parenthood Abortion Biz Closes 5th Clinic After Donald Trump Defeats Hillary Clinton

Planned Parenthood shut down two more of its facilities in Massachusetts this month, bringing the total number closed since Donald Trump won the election up to five.

The Milford Daily News reports two Planned Parenthood clinics in Milford and Somerville, Massachusetts closed permanently several weeks ago. Neither of the facilities performed abortions, but they did recommend and refer women for them. Patients affected by the closings are being referred to the abortion group’s other five centers in the state, according to the report. Those centers are increasing their hours, according to Planned Parenthood.

The news comes not long after a Pennsylvania affiliate of the abortion group announced that it also was closing three of its facilities in December. Administrators there cited budgetary reasons for the closings.

The report continued:

In a press release, Planned Parenthood League of Massachusetts President and CEO Jennifer Childs-Roshak said the state’s chapter decided to close the Somerville and Milford centers due to a “strategic decision” rather than a budgetary one.

The organization’s “extensive review of the health care landscape” showed that the needs of patients in the Milford and Somerville areas have changed, “while other communities show persisting needs for greater family planning services,” Childs-Roshak said.

SIGN THE PETITION! Congress Must De-Fund Planned Parenthood Immediately

The abortion group told the Massachusetts newspaper that its decision was not based on the on-going efforts in Congress to defund Planned Parenthood of millions of tax dollars.

President-elect Donald Trump promised several times to sign a bill to defund the national abortion chain as long as it continues to do abortions. With Republicans in control of the U.S. House and Senate, a defunding bill appears likely to pass in the near future.

While the abortion business claims that it does not use any of those tax dollars for abortion, its reports increasingly point to abortion as its main business. Planned Parenthood is the largest abortion business in the U.S. It performs about 320,000 abortions nation-wide annually and receives about half a million in tax dollars.

While Planned Parenthood’s abortion numbers have remained fairly steady and its taxpayer funding has increased in the past few years under President Barack Obama, its reports show it providing fewer non-abortion services to fewer patients.

An analysis of Planned Parenthood’s reports from the past 10 years found that its client numbers went down 14 percent, birth control went down 14 percent and breast exams went down 61 percent; at the same time its taxpayer funding went up 103 percent. Abortions also went up 27 percent, according to the analysis by Right to Life of Michigan.

Planned Parenthood is not essential to women’s health care in the U.S. either. In 2015, Alliance Defending Freedom and the Charlotte Lozier Institute reported there are 13,540 medical clinics providing whole-woman healthcare in the United States versus the 665 Planned Parenthood facilities, which offer only limited services including abortion.
