New Archbishop of Kenya will fight for the future of his church, his country and its young

The new Archbishop of Kenya, Dr Jackson Ole Sapit, with President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy President William Ruto

The new Archbishop of Kenya is spoken of by friends and admirers with not so much shock as a considerable amount of awe.

One reason is because this large, strong and unqestionably holy man is from the influential Masai tribal group – a warrior tribe which the charisma of the new primate's presence personifies. His mother was the seventh of his wealthy fath..

Confessions of an ex-liberal theologian

Thomas C. Oden is a prominent theologian who formerly was a major practitioner of liberal, modernist theology. But then, after reading the Church Fathers, he did an about face, turning to orthodox, historical Christianity. He tells his story in A Change of Heart: A Personal and Theological Memoir.
This is the most stimulating and illuminating book that I have read in a long time, giving an inside look at the construction of liberal theology, explaining what happened to mainstream Protestantism, ..

A Nicene Life

Visible traces (on shore and in water) of Constantine’s summer palace.
What does it mean to be “Nicene”?
I am not patristic scholar and I make no suggestion of it in what follows but, rather, I want to sketch the conclusions of one who is: Lewis Ayres, in his exceptional study Nicaea and its Legacy: An Approach to Fourth-Century Trinitarian Theology. Ayres’ work is intense, specialized, academic and widely acclaimed. I highly recommend it and I recommend that you savor it by reading it slowly.

Bible memorisation secrets revealed: Man who can recite 20 books of Scripture shows his techniques in new book

In Proverbs 7:2, Jesus says, “Guard my words as your most precious possession. Write them down and also keep them deep within your heart.”

Perhaps the man who can best follow this instruction today is Tom Meyer, a member of Wordsower International Ministries and a professor at Shasta Bible College in California.

Why?

It's because Meyer holds the record for being able to recite at least 20 of the 66 books of the Bible from memory.

How is he able to do that?

In a..
