SYDNEY — An Australian man and his homosexual lover have been extradited on charges that they raped the man’s 10-month-old daughter and uploaded inappropriate photos of the child while the mother was away for three hours.

The men, whose names have not yet been released, were extradited from Melbourne to Sydney on Tuesday on charges that they both sexually abused the baby in April 2015.

According to the Sydney Morning Herald, the men traveled from their home in Melbourne to Sydney last year to babysit the child while the mother was away at a training course. One of the men is the father of the girl, but is no longer in a relationship with the mother.

The mother was not aware that during the three hours that she was away, the men raped the child repeatedly and allegedly took photographs of her private parts.

Police state that one of the men told an associate about their plans via Skype, writing, “[The father] and I will have time on our own with her. Incest turns me on so much.”

He also notified the associate after the rape, “We did not have enough time to do everything that we wanted to unfortunately.”

After police had raided the home of one of the men’s associates this past March, computer evidence led them to the two men, where officers found photos of the baby, as well as the aforementioned Skype conversations.

Detective Chief Inspector Peter Yeomans from the NSW State Crime Command’s Child Abuse Squad, told reporters on Thursday that he found the crime to be abhorrent.

“The sexual assault or alleged sexual assault of a ten-month-old child is beyond belief,” he stated.

The father of the baby has been charged with two counts of sexual intercourse with a child under ten years of age, and is also facing charges related to the production, possession and transmission of child pornography.

His partner has likewise been charged with having sexual intercourse with a child under ten years of age, inciting sexual abuse, and producing, possessing and sharing child pornography.

They have both been denied bail and will appear in court on Tuesday. Video footage shows the men being led away handcuffed and placed in a police van.
