Activists Celebrate Abortion Provider Appreciation Day, “We’re Grateful for Abortion Doctors”
There is so much going on, including plans to cut the half-billion dollar stream of federal dollars to Planned Parenthood, you might anticipate that the largest provider of abortions on the face of the planet might pay less attention than usual to the “National Day of Appreciation for Abortion Providers.”
I went to PPFA’s twitter account and after searching in vain for a reference, plugged the word “abortion” into the search engine. For the period of the last two days, the word appeared just three times.
One was about the bad guys (us) furthering an “anti-abortion agenda”; the second was an insistence that tax dollars don’t pay for “abortion care” [interesting choice of words]; and the third was anger over the Hyde Amendment which bars federal funding of abortions in most cases.
How about their Facebook page? Just this:
We’re grateful to the compassionate and courageous doctors, nurses, physician assistants, and health center staff who work every day to keep patients healthy and ensure they have access to the reproductive health care they need — including safe and legal abortion. Sign our card to say “thank you.”
What about the word “abortion”? In addition to the above, there were just four other occurrences, all found in reader responses. That’s only five times more play than given to “toxic masculinity” (which included a brief video). Hmmm.
Wouldn’t you think as the recipient of a half billion dollars in federal dollars; as the go-to place to abort your child (over 330,000 abortions annually); and as a major political player in the Democratic Party whose primary goal is to guarantee that every Democrat running for office supports abortion on demand you’d talk more about a revenue stream that brings in over $150 million?

But it all makes perfect sense if you are determined to cloth the bloody, brutal execution of unborn child in the clean, noble garb of “women’s health services.”
