Dozens of school have started to run lunch time and after school clubs where children can play the game. But in Blackpool the game has proved so popular the clubs have waiting lists as parents rush to sign their children up.

Kate Finney, a coordinator for Blackpool Schools and Youth Work (BSYW), said the game was loved by teachers and children alike. "Children love the game for its fun, parkour elements. They can customise their own characters and fully immerse themselves in the game.

"They're learning through play. Teachers also love it because it helps with teaching RE and parts of the curriculum."

Terry Clutterham, mission development director for Scripture Union, said: "People might be surprised that there is a waiting list for a Bible-based app, they also might not expect that such a game has had over 120,000 users so far.

"The quality of the game and the fantastic team in Blackpool have together contributed to create such an incredible demand for the clubs."
