My mother and My brothers are these who hear the word of God and do it.

Luke 8:21

Morning

My mother and My brothers are these
who hear the word of God and do it.

Both He who sanctifies and those who are being sanctified are all of one, for which reason He is not ashamed to call them brethren, saying: “I will declare Your name to My brethren; in the midst of the assembly I will sing praise to You.” § In Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision avails anything, but faith working through love. § You are My friends if you do whatever I command you. § Blessed are those who hear the word of God and keep it! § Not everyone who says to Me, “Lord, Lord,” shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. § My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me.

If we say that we have fellowship with Him, and walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. § Whoever keeps His word, truly the love of God is perfected in him. By this we know that we are in Him.

Evening

What are you doing here, Elijah?

He knows the way that I take. § O Lord, You have searched me and known me. You know my sitting down and my rising up; You understand my thought afar off. You comprehend my path and my lying down, and are acquainted with all my ways … Where can I go from Your Spirit? Or where can I flee from Your presence? … If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea, even there Your hand shall lead me, and Your right hand shall hold me.

Elijah was a man with a nature like ours. § The fear of man brings a snare, but whoever trusts in the Lord shall be safe. § Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down; for the Lord upholds him with His hand. § A righteous man may fall seven times and rise again.

Let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart. § The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak. § As a father pities his children, so the Lord pities those who fear Him.
