XXX Church, an online ministry dedicated to helping people with porn and sex addictions, believes that the struggles of porn users are universal. Men or women, rich or poor, regardless of race and faith, share the same problems when it comes to porn.
The ministry shared on its website the five common things that tie porn users together. The first is that porn users struggle with loneliness. Porn might offer users unlimited partners, but deep down inside, users know that the connections are false.
The second struggle is a warped worldview. When people watch porn, they are given a series of fantasies and ridiculous sexual encounters. Because of this, porn users are led to believe that men are always dominant, women are always vocal, any situation can turn sexual, and every person is nothing more than a sexual object.
Next, porn users struggle with anxiety. Because porn watching is done in secret, porn users live a double life and are constantly worried that their horrid secret will be exposed at any time. As a result, porn users' anxiety will gnaw at them and never give them a moment's peace.
The fourth struggle is a diminished sex life. Because they rely on porn to satisfy their lust, actual sex becomes less satisfying. They always feel the need to "spice things up" to match what they see on the screen.

Lastly, porn users struggle with shame. XXX Church considers this the worst struggle because it is a hovering presence in the mind. This also triggers self-doubt and hate, making it more difficult for users to break free from the bondages of porn.
Porn might seem like a hopeless addiction to break free from, but XXX Church assures all porn users that they can conquer their addictions with the help of a supportive group, family, and God.
