ISIS Militants Publicly Flog 6 Women for Not Wearing Dresses Prescribed by Islamic Law

Reuters – Women walk together in an ISIS-controlled area in Syria.

Six women from Syria were publicly flogged by Islamic State (ISIS) militants for not wearing the correct clothes prescribed by Islamic law.

According to a report by ARA News, the public flogging was carried out by al-Hisba, the religious police controlled by the ISIS, at the terror group’s de facto capital, the Syrian city of Raqqa.

An anonymous eyewitness told ARA News that the six women were apprehended near a marketplace on Tuesday morning for allegedly violating the Sharia dress code.

In areas in the Middle East covered by the ISIS, women are required to cover themselves from head to toe in a black dress, and cover their faces with a veil as well.

After the women were arrested, an ISIS judge reportedly decreed that the the six women be punished with 50 lashes each as a way of warning city residents against disobey ISIS laws.

“They vowed that any woman violating the regulations would face an even harsher punishment,” the unnamed source said.

The public displays of punishment are reportedly happening on a daily basis in areas controlled by the ISIS. These public punishments are supposedly the terror group’s way of exercising control and authority over residents of the areas under their control.

Meanwhile, in another public display of brutality, ISIS extremists released on Tuesday a video footage showing the execution of a Syrian army soldier and a rebel fighter, according to ARA News.

Just like other execution footage it released in the past, the video from the ISIS’ media office in Hamas showed the two victims in orange jumpsuits, with their executioners standing behind them wearing black masks and soldiers’ clothes.

The graphic video showed how the ISIS terrorists beheaded one of the men and killed the other using small arms. The executed men were reportedly captured in separate clashes in the Homs countryside and were detained by Islamic militants.
